Hierarchical polygons and GIS subareas in GeoGestmaq

September 1, 2026 GIS editing

Create areas and subareas directly on the map with new hierarchical polygon tools, assisted drawing, and polygon splitting in GeoGestmaq.

GeoGestmaq now includes new tools for working with hierarchical polygons directly from Android. You can create areas inside other areas, preserve relationships between polygons, and split existing zones without leaving the map.

Create subareas inside your polygons

Select a polygon and create new subareas within its boundaries. Each area keeps its hierarchical relationship, making it easier to organize sectors, properties, work zones, or other geographic divisions.

Assisted drawing along boundaries

Assisted drawing lets you reuse existing boundaries while creating new areas. GeoGestmaq detects nearby limits and helps maintain precise connections between polygons, reducing accidental gaps and overlaps.

Split polygons directly on the map

An existing subarea can be divided by drawing a line from one point on its boundary to another. GeoGestmaq automatically generates the new polygons while preserving the hierarchy structure and its limits.

GIS editing designed for field work

These new tools make it possible to build and modify polygon structures directly from an Android device, supporting field surveys, area planning, and geographic data updates on site.

Useful for

  • Property and sector division
  • Creating work subareas
  • Field GIS surveys
  • Operational zone delimitation
  • Hierarchical area organization
