PDF and DEM Terrain Analysis

Topographic maps play an essential role in forestry, mining and field surveying. GeoGestmaq brings this information into a mobile GIS environment by combining georeferenced PDF maps with Digital Elevation Models to perform terrain analysis.

Import Your PDF Maps

Start by importing a PDF map into GeoGestmaq. Once processed and georeferenced, you can display it on the map and use it as a base for working with geographic information directly from your Android device.

Add a Digital Elevation Model (DEM)

Enhance your map by importing a TIFF file containing elevation data. GeoGestmaq uses this information to generate different terrain representations without displaying the original DEM as an additional map layer.

Generate and Visualize Slope Maps

Generate slope maps from your Digital Elevation Model. Visualize terrain gradients and use the slope range filter to identify areas with different slope levels.

Generate Contour Lines

Calculate contour lines to represent terrain elevation changes. Overlay them on your map and control their visibility using the GeoGestmaq layer manager.

Visualize Hillshade

Generate shaded relief representations using simulated lighting and shadows. Hillshade makes it easier to visually interpret mountains, valleys, slopes and other topographic features.

Manage Your Map Layers

GeoGestmaq allows you to manage your map layers by showing or hiding contour lines and hillshade according to your needs. You can also use the slope range selector to analyze specific terrain gradients.
