Detect Raster Areas and Create GIS Polygons in GeoGestmaq
Detect areas directly on raster maps in GeoGestmaq and convert them into GIS polygons, reducing manual digitization work from Android.
GeoGestmaq now includes a new raster detection tool that lets you select an area directly on a raster plan or map and automatically identify its boundaries so you can work with it as a geographic element.
Detect areas directly on the raster
With the Detect tool, you can select a point inside a raster region and GeoGestmaq analyzes the area to identify its extent and generate its boundary.
Reduce manual tracing
Raster detection speeds up the digitization of areas that previously had to be traced manually, especially on plans with regions clearly differentiated by colors, shades, or visible boundaries.
Convert the detection into a GIS polygon
Once the region has been identified, the result can be used to create a geographic polygon and continue working with the editing tools available in GeoGestmaq.
Work directly from Android
The entire process is performed directly in the app, allowing you to analyze raster plans and digitize new areas from an Android device without depending on desktop GIS software.
Applications in mining, forestry, and fieldwork
Raster area detection can support digitization work in mining, forestry, agriculture, surveying, infrastructure, and other projects where plans, thematic maps, or raster information are used.
Useful for
- Digitizing raster plans and maps
- Mining projects
- Forestry management and surveys
- Agricultural and land use maps
- GIS field surveys
- Infrastructure plans
- Zoning and area delimitation
- Fast GIS polygon creation
